Italy, Lake Garda Lefay Royal Pool & Spa Villa

Villa with a private spa set in an elegant and eco-friendly resort overlooking Lake Garda

Located in the heart of eleven hectares of parkland on the Riviera dei Limoni, the Lefay Royal Pool & Spa Suite overlooks beautiful Lake Garda. The concept of the villa is luxury where peace, nature and well being blend together in the unique and spectacular scenery of the natural park Alto Garda. Set over 600 square metres, the residence has four bedrooms and is set within the grounds of big sister SLH property Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda, so you can use all the facilities the resort has to offer, including the 3,00 square metre spa, or relax in total privacy within your own villa – the best of both worlds.

The Lefay Wellness concept means that everything from the interior design to the use of local materials was fashioned respecting the surrounding landscape and environment. This philosophy also extends to the food, which uses the best seasonal local produce, and even extends to Lefay having their own farms producing extra virgin olive oils, a key component of the chefs’ Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.

If you are keen on a gadget or two, then there are plenty. The private spa offers infrared sauna, steam sauna, shower with chromo therapy and a treatment room. There is a Jacuzzi with lake view. For entertainment there is LCD satellite television, B&W Hi-Fi with Zeppelin Air audio system and iPod docking station. If all that is not relaxing enough for you, enjoy the private fully furnished garden with 12 metre private heated infinity pool.

There is much to do in the area, from the many activities on and around La Garda, to one of the cultural high points, opera at Arena di Verona. Even if you do not decide to see one of the internationally famous large-scale operas performed at the arena, the Roman amphitheatre dates back to AD30 and is one of the best preserved structures of its kind anywhere in the world, so is worth a visit in its own right.

  • Best local fine dining restaurant – As this Private Residence is set out in the countryside, many people choose to relax at Lefay Resort and whilst there are many dining options in the towns around the area, with a fine dining restaurant like La Grande Limonaia right on the doorstep it is hard to be tempted further afield. Sogliola alla mugnaia, spinaci e tartufo nero del Monte Baldo or Sole meunière, spinach and Monte Baldo black truffle, is highly recommended. http://lagodigarda.lefayresorts.com/eng/restaurants-bars/la-grande-limonaia/
  • Best casual restaurant – Trattoria La Vigna in the resort where you have to try the wonderful oven baked sea bream with fennel, potatoes and olives … simple and delicious http://lagodigarda.lefayresorts.com/eng/restaurants-bars/trattoria-la-vigna/
  • Best restaurant for lunch – If you happen to be in Brescia, try Amarcord Piadineria Artigianale. Piadina is a middle-east Italian speciality and is an unleavened flat-bread which is griddle baked and stuffed with salty or sweet ingredients http://www.piadineria.it/
  • Best place for a sundowner – By the private swimming pool – you will never tire of the view
  • Best local bar – As the resort is set out in the countryside, many people do not stray far, but the Lefay Resort Pool Bar takes some beating, so why look anywhere else
  • Best nightclub – This part of Lake Garda is far more about rest and relaxation, but if you cannot go without busting some moves on the dance floor, then try Coco Beach, although it is 40 kilometres from the Resort http://www.cocobeachclub.net/cocobeach/discoteque.asp
  • Best place for a picnic – In the beautiful grounds
  • Notable local cultural events, festivals or celebrations – Mille Miglia race usually takes place in mid May and takes its name from the distance which must be covered (Brescia-Rome-Brescia), a distance amounting to precisely 1000 miles. The event is designed for vintage car enthusiasts, both spectators and participants, and starts and ends only 60 kilometres from the property http://www.1000miglia.eu/
  • Must see – Vittoriale degli Italiani (translates as The shrine of Italian victories) is a hillside estate full of interest http://www.vittoriale.it/. The Centomiglia (a hundred miles) was first run in 1951 and is a very colourful spectacle well worth a visit. It takes place during September, when Lake Garda is the venue for the longest inland-water contest at the highest level of sailing, which is one of the most important European races http://www.centomiglia.it/regata-centomiglia/history-of-centomiglia.html
  • Must do – A little further away in Verona, take in an opera performance at the Roman amphitheatre Arena di Verona – a truly memorable spectacle http://www.arena.it
  • Must try – Lefay extra virgin olive oils from their very own farms in Tuscany and on Lake Garda
  • Hidden secret – Energy and Therapeutic Garden – The Symbol of Life This garden offers five different stations filled with symbolism that are designed to evokes the rhythm of life and its different stages http://lagodigarda.lefayresorts.com/eng/the-spa/world-of-water-and-fire/outdoor-paths/
  • Best time to visit for the weather – May to October
  • Best time to visit to avoid the crowds – October to April
