Private Residences by Small Luxury Hotels of the World

France, Théoule sur Mer Villa Azur

Mediterranean villa on the French Riviera

Villa Azur has two floors and three bedrooms decorated in contemporary style and set over 170 square metres (1830 square feet). The quintessential Côte d’Azur experience involves a relaxing drink, spectacular vistas and a gentle sea breeze, so the villa’s three terraces offer some perfect choices for this. The villa belongs to the owners of the adjoining SLH sister property Tiara Miramar Beach Hôtel & Spa with its fine restaurant, sauna and spa, so offers all the advantages of a superb private residence and the services of a luxury hotel.   more...

Théoule sur Mer is a picturesque former fishing village which lies between the Var and the Alpes Maritimes and is an excellent starting point to explore the beautiful Côte d’Azur coastline. Sailing fans can hire a yacht and arrange a private trip from the hotel’s pontoon out to the beautiful Lérins Islands just off the coast. Alternatively borrow a kayak and paddle five minutes up the coast to the lovely little marina of Port de la Figueirette where there are a number of lovely, authentic restaurants and cafés, for a well earned drink and bite to eat. Alternatively take a short drive to Cannes, or take a picnic for a day in the Massif de l’Esterel, which offers stunning views of the coast and Mediterranean from its highest point.

The village of Théoule sur Mer is also home to the unique and futuristic Palais Bulles (or Bubble Palace), built between 1975 and 1989 by famous Hungarian architect Antti Lovag. In May 2015, the owner, Pierre Cardin, decided to put the property up for sale, so if you really like the area perhaps you might like to put in a bid. Christie’s International Real Estate estimated the value at 190 million Euros, but sources close to the French couturier have suggested 350 million would be nearer the figure required to persuade him to sell!
